About the Conductor
Ben Luedcke has a Bachelor of Music from UW Madison, and is currently teaching voice and taking credits at UW Madison furthering his musical and language education. In addition to his work with the Choral Arts Society, Ben works with numerous other groups.
Ben sings in and directs a mixed-voice early music quintet, Musica Apéritif, that opens for the Choral Arts Society at their biannual concerts and performs medieval, renaissance and baroque a cappella repertoire.
Ben also conducts UW Men's Choir, an auditioned honors choir open to students and community members that rehearses Thursday evenings during the semester. Men's Choir does a joint concert with Half and Half, a male quartet Ben sings baritone in and directs.
Ben is also the conductor of Madison Summer Choir, an 80-voice, auditioned choir open to students and community members that rehearses Mondays and Tuesdays during the first part of the summer and presents a concert that includes a cappella, piano accompanied, and orchestral works.
Ben sings in UW Chorale and UW Madrigals under the direction of Dr. Bruce Gladstone.
Ben directs the music team at The Crossing and sings and plays guitar in service. He is also the Director of Music at Lake Edge United Church of Christ in Monona where he sings and plays piano in service, and directs both the Lake Edge Choir and the contemporary Praise Band.
